I’ve been writing the daily dose for about 30 weeks now. There’s not too many things I’ve done every weekday for 30 weeks other than eat, sleep and spend time with Jesus in the morning. There are plenty of nights when I sit down to write that I’m tired, feel unmotivated or feel like I have nothing worth saying. But I keep doing it.
This seems like grace. Sometimes, we can’t see how we are going to press on, get something done, deal with a certain person, live joyfully – the list is long. It can be really discouraging when you’re feeling it. But God’s grace, when we lean into it, isn’t just something that forgives our sins so we can go to heaven. No, grace is in active participant in our daily lives. I find God’s grace keeps working even when we don’t “feel” like it. It’s almost the definition of grace – to keep us moving forward in our lives by no effort of our own.
God simply invites us into it – to accept it, embrace it, and walk in it.
I don’t know exactly how I’ve stayed so faithful to writing this. It’s not my nature to stick things out this way. It must be grace.
