We will never love one another until we realize how much we’re loved.
We will never sacrificially love until we realize how much has been sacrificed for us.
We will never live out a love which covers a multitude of sins until we realize the multitude of our own sins which have been covered by God’s love.
Here it is: God loves you. He loves you more than you could imagine and he is working for your good and your freedom. Be free today, in Jesus. Whatever is binding you – speak the name and power of Jesus over it – and be free.
These are powerful personal principles but they are also beautifully intertwined with God’s story for how we find unity and love one another. First John chapter 4 sums it up well. I invite you to meditate on this passage today and to pray it over yourself, your family and your community – that we may be set free to love in ways that transcend differences, division and pain.
“God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.”
O Lord, this is our prayer today.
Grace and Peace,
